My Take - The Kansas City Chiefs

Hmm...
Let's see where do I begin.
It appears this team is in such disarray that it would take many changes to turn this team around anytime soon.
Unfortunately for Chiefs fans there doesn't appear to be a change in sight.
I contend however that the Chiefs are not that far away.
The Chiefs have play makers all over the field.
They have one the best running backs in the NFL in Jamaal Charles.
They have a top 8 receiver in Dwayne Bowe.
Dexter Mccluster is an outstanding athlete that can be used as a running back or a wide receiver.
I really like Eric Barry the safety from the University of Tennessee.
If they have these great players then why can't they be better than 1-6.
For starters In NFL history, only three teams have ever had a worse turnover margin after seven games than this year's Chiefs.
They have 25 giveaways and only 7 takeaways.
You can do the math.
That's a -18 differential on the season.
So why so many turnovers? It always starts and ends with the signal caller.
In this instance it's Matt Cassel.
I said at the time that giving Matt Cassel all that money just off one season for the Patriots was a bad idea.
It was a year when the Patriots lost Tom Brady for the season and Bill Belicheck went 11-5 with Matt Cassel.
Obviously, as Chiefs fans know now, he is not the answer at quarterback.
Matt Cassel so far this year has amassed 6 touchdowns and 16 turnovers.
The backup is equally as bad.
Brady Quinn has bounced around from team to team like a pinball.
I have doubts if Romeo Crennel is cut out to be a head coach.
When Crennel was asked about why Jamaal Charles only had 5 touches against the Raiders Sunday, he said that he didn't know why he wasn't more involved.
As an NFL head coach how do you not know what your team's game plan is? I believe he is in over his head and needs to be a defensive coordinator only.
The division is very winnable.
When I look at the division in the upcoming years I only see Denver being strong, and an aging Manning won't be around very long.
The Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is eroding.
His arm looks shot.
When he throws the ball it looks like a wiffle ball flowing in the wind.
The Raiders are always a mess and Carson Palmer is never the answer.
My wife says to me nearly every Sunday,"Why can't the Chiefs just get a quarterback?" It sounds like too easy of a fix but it's true.
You all have seen this year what a franchise quarterback can do for an NFL team.
The newer rules in the NFL are set up for offensive production.
The Washington Redskins went 4-12 last year and Robert Griffin III has made the Redskins viable his first season.
Andrew Luck has massively improved the Colts.
They have already doubled the wins of last year.
The Chiefs will be competitive in this division if they can get a talented quarterback in the draft.
They will lose many more games this year and hopefully enough to get a high draft pick.
I know all Chiefs fans can't sit and watch them lose a football game 9-6 much longer.
