As the seasons change, each approaching season brings a new and exciting time. Fall is associated with the changing of the leaves to bright colors, pumpkin carving and family time. Crafts can be a fun way to spend time as a family or entertain your kids and their friends. Kids, old and young, can enjoy crafts. - This simple craft can entertain kids of all ages and makes a beautiful fall-themed window hanging when finished. Using contact paper or wax paper with glue, place different-colored tissue paper between two layers and stick the two sheets together. Cut a leaf shape out of the paper. Hold the leaf up to the light or hang it in the window to enjoy.
- Kids can have endless fun playing outside and collecting leaves in the fall. Have them collect several leaves and create colorful leaf rubbings from them. Using only crayons and paper, this is a simple, but fun, craft for kids to do. Place the paper over the leaf and use the crayons to color over the leaf. This will make a design of the leaf on the paper.
- Dry out the corn husks from last night's dinner and make dolls or puppets from them. This activity is fun for older children and they will have something eco friendly to play with when finished. Dry the husks for one to three days ahead of time. Tie yarn around the husks to create a waist, and neck. Once shaped like a body, use yarn or pipe cleaners to create arms, legs and hair as desired. Add more husks for clothing if needed. Be creative.
