    • 1). Click the Windows globe button to show the search input box. Type "Run" and press "Enter."

    • 2). Type “secpol.msc” into the input box and press the "Enter" key. The Security Policy interface launches.

    • 3). Click the “OK” button. The User Account Control Settings dialog box appears.

    • 4). Slide the slider bar downward toward "Never Notify" until the message on the right side of the slider bar states "Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim desktop)."

    • 5). Click on the option labeled “User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation.”

    • 6). Click “OK."

    • 7). Close all configuration windows. Secure Desktop (desktop dimming during UAC verification) is now disabled.
