    • 1). Connect the MP3 player to the USB cable, and the cable to an available USB port on the computer. USB cables are form-fitted, which means that you can only connect them in the right way to a USB port. If you meet resistance, it's likely that you are holding the cable upside-down. Once connected, activate the MP3 player and close any software or windows that appear on the screen. If this is the first time you have connected the player to the computer, it may take a few moments for the computer to run through an automated process of adding the new hardware. If this is the case, it will tell you when the drive is ready to be used.

    • 2). Click on the "Start" button and then "My Computer." Navigate to where your music is stored. Move that window to off to the side and click the "Start" button and then "My Computer" again. This time, double-click on the MP3 player listed amongst the drives.

    • 3). Arrange the two windows so that you have the window with your music on the left, and the window for the MP3 player on the right. For every song that you want on the MP3 player, select it in the left window and drag it into the MP3 player window. A small pop-up should momentarily appear to tell you that the file is being copied. The song should now be in both windows. You can also right-click the song in the left window and, from the menu, hover over "Send To" and select your player in the list. Again, the song should then show in both windows. Repeat the copy process until all of the desired songs have been copied to the MP3 player.

    • 4). Close both windows. Left-click the "Remove Hardware" icon in the System Tray. You will be presented with a list of all of the USB devices currently connected to the computer. Click the MP3 player. When the computer is finished writing to the flash drive, a balloon will appear stating "Safe To Remove Hardware." Do not disconnect the player without receiving this message. When ready, disconnect the USB cable from the computer, and the cable from the MP3 player.
