Wet Vac Instructions

    • 1). Assemble the wet vac by first attaching the wheels, then installing a filter in the filter cage. Remove the upper half of the unit (the part that contains the motor) by releasing the two containment levers on either side of the machine. Pull the upper half of the unit straight up and set it aside. Put the main collection tank upside down (this is the bottom half of the machine). Push each of the four caster wheels into their respective holes located around the circumference of the bottom of the unit.

    • 2). Turn the upper half of the unit you just removed upside down. Slide a filter that came with the unit slowly over the ball float cage, which resembles a coffee can pointing straight up. Once the filter has been pushed onto the ball cage as far as it will go, slide the plastic retaining ring over the top of the filter. This ring will slide down and squeeze the base of the filter against the base of the ball cage, keeping the filter securely in place.

    • 3). Stand the lower half of the unit on its wheels. Mount the upper half of the unit on top of that, and secure the two containment levers so that the upper and lower units are securely fastened together. Be sure that the upper and lower units are mounted properly; improper alignment will decrease vacuum power and be a potential source for a water leak when vacuuming fluids.

    • 4). Plug the unit into a three-pronged grounded electrical outlet. Attach a vacuum hose to the hose inlet port located on the side of the unit; it will be marked "In." If desired, place a hose attachment on to the end of the vacuum hose. Attachments are useful for a variety of tasks, such as cleaning within small crevices, and usually are included with the unit.

    • 5). Turn the power switch on by depressing the rocker switch on the top of the unit. Begin to vacuum the desired material with a sweeping motion of the vacuum hose and attachment. Continue to vacuum until the job is complete.

    • 6). Monitor the sound of the unit when vacuuming fluids. When the float ball, which is located within the ball cage, senses that the collection chamber is full, the machine will emit a high-pitched sound, meaning the machine no longer is vacuuming due to a full collection chamber. Shut the unit off.

    • 7). Lift the vacuum hose so that all fluids contained within the hose run back into the collection tank. Remove the hose by pulling from the hose inlet port on the side of the unit. Set the hose aside, being careful not to drip fluid where it could cause damage.

    • 8). Remove the upper half of the unit by releasing the two containment levers on either side of the machine. Pull the upper half of the unit straight up and set it aside. Turn the collection chamber upside down to drain it of all fluids and vacuumed materials. Be sure to empty the collection chamber into the trash or a sink, if dumping liquids. Replace the upper half of the unit and resume vacuuming after reattaching the hose.
