Tipped
Definition: Tipped (adjective and verb) refers to the pyrometric cones' behavior during firing. In the cone pack, the cone is considered tipped when the tip of it begins to bend. The kiln has not reached the cone rating for that cone, but it is getting close to it.
Tipping usually is an adjective used used to describe the cones themselves; however, it can also be used as a descriptor of the firing as a whole.
Examples:
Cone 10 just tipped. (verb)
He wants the kiln to fire to a tipped cone 6. (adjective)
I've set the cone in the kiln sitter to give me a tipped 3 firing. (adjective with understood "cone")
