How to Convert AVI Files to Mov, DivX to QuickTime Files
- 1). Launch HandBrake after downloading the program from its website (see Resources). Open your AVI or DivX file by clicking the "Source" icon and locating your video in the pop-up window.
- 2). Click the "Toggle Preset" button on the right side of your screen and choose "QuickTime" under the "Apple" menu option. Select any specific audio options or picture settings you may need, as well as your video codec.
- 3). Choose your file's output destination by clicking the "Browse" button. Click "Start" to begin the conversion.
- 1). After downloading and installing MPEG Streamclip (see Resources), open your file by dragging the file name from "My Computer" (if on a PC) or from "Finder" (if on a Mac) into the empty box.
- 2). Choose the "Export to QuickTime" option under the "File" menu and set your compression codec. Select a frame size as desired and any sound options you need.
- 3). Choose "Upper Field First" as your field dominance and click "Make Movie" to begin converting your AVI or DivX file.
- 1). Download and install QuickTime Player (free) and the Pro Component ($29.99) from Apple (see Resources). Launch QuickTime and open your video in a new player window.
- 2). Choose "Export" from the "File" menu and select "Movie to QuickTime Movie" in the export options. Your file's extension should now read ".mov." Click "Options" to further customize your audio and video output settings.
- 3). Select your MOV's destination in the menu window, rename your file and click "Save" to begin converting.
