The simplest way to save your money is by installing weather strips to your door and windows with "V" seal type weather stripping.
The only rule is that the "V" should face outward.

Closing the holes on the door and windows frames and around base boards will also prevent the treated air to go away from the house.

You had be better change your window glasses with high efficiency window at a really great price, or you may just cover it with clear plastic sheeting.
This method will give you the best result during winter; you will reduce a lot of heating cost.
