How to Do Graffiti Wildstyle Alphabet
- 1). Airbrush the outline of your alphabet first. Keep the letters close together as you paint them. Traditional graffiti often emphasizes space between the letters, filled with a lot of shadow. Wildstyle focuses on close contact between the letters, with overlapping and linking. Add random symbols to link the letters together. Symbols can include arrows, an @ sign, a star or anything that suits the work. Use a dark color for the outline.
- 2). Color your letters with the same vivid neon colors traditional to graffiti. Use a darker color to emphasize the hard lines, but allow those lines to vary in thickness. The image of the letters should be present but easily hidden beneath overlaid design.
- 3). Airbrush a design of some type over your finished alphabet. A snake winding through the letters over and over until it almost hides the letters might be a good idea. Aim for composition that makes your audience look hard to see the alphabet hidden beneath the lines. This is what makes Wildstyle different than traditional graffiti forms.
