The words used to describe this is to "suckle," but instead of suckling milk from the breast, Tohil suckles blood by having the victims' hearts torn out. The largest temple of Tohil was at the ancient Quiche capital of Gumarcaj ("Rotten Cane"). Another large Tohil temple was located at the Maya capital of Utatlan.
