CHANDIGARH: Even though, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal stated in Punjab assembly that he would be meeting President and Prime Minister to seek clemency for Balwant Singh Rajoana, convict in lat chief minister Beant Singh convict case, state government was taking no chances in terms of maintain law and order. As a precautionary measure, state government has reportedly requisitioned six companies of paramilitary forces from Centre as the date for execution of Rajoana draws near.
The situation in the state was calm at the moment but one could find simmering tension in the air and due to this state police has also increased vigil as it has deployed extra personnel especially at sensitive points and locations. The six companies of para military forces would be deployed at Patiala, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana.
The state government has reportedly directed respective distort police heads to be on alert and take all possible measures to maintain general law and order.
Security also has been tightened in and around the jail premises of Patiala. The police also took out a flag march in the city.
Meanwhile, Balwant Singh Rajoana, convicted for the assassination of former chief minister Beant Singh, in his latest letter which waas released from Patiala Central jail has termed Akali leaders as cheaters. He also did not spare other two political parties Congress and BJP criticising them for trying to politicize his mission.
In his letter, Rajoana said that he doesn't need help from blue-turbaned Akali leaders, who have not done anything so far to get justice for Sikhs. He said that Akali leaders
were speaking up now as they fear that if they don't act now, they will lose their support.
The copies of letter were released by his foster sister Kamaldeep Kaur outside the Patiala central jail.Rajoana also stated that since Akali leaders have failed to secure justice from Delhi for innocent Sikhs should not now throw their turbans before Delhi. He said that they are now trying to secure sympathy for me from Delhi with folded hands adding history would never forgive them for their failure to get justice for Sikhs.

Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has welcomed the stand of Congress. He said that statements made by Congress leaders including former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and family members of late chief minister Beant Singh, favouring clemency for Balwant Singh Rajoana.
Regarding BJP's stand on the Rajoana issue, Sukhbir said it should be asked to BJP leaders. He also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony.
