    • 1). Turn off the power to the Frigidaire dishwasher. In most installations, the best way is to cut the power at the main circuit breaker. Open the circuit breaker box and locate the switch for the Frigidaire dishwasher. Move this to the "Off" position.

    • 2). Open the Frigidaire dishwasher door. Check the door seal to see how it is held in place. In some Frigidaire models, the gasket is held in place with clips around the edge. Others might have the seal mounted in place with plastic clips you must unscrew before you can remove the seal. Pull the door seal out. Cut stubborn seals with a sharp utility knife. Pull out with a pair of needle nose pliers.

    • 3). Soak the new door seal in warm water for about 30 minutes. This will help the seal become flexible. Apply a few drops of petroleum jelly or dishwasher soap to the length of the seal to help you replace it in the door.

    • 4). Slide the dishwasher door seal into the seal socket around the door. Press the seal into place with a wooden spoon or pair of chopsticks. Don't use any metal instruments, as this can tear the seal.

    • 5). Secure the new seal in place with any screws, clips or washers that were holding the original.

    • 6). Restore power to the Frigidair dishwasher. Check that it works correctly and is holding water. Retighten the seal if necessary.
