    Converting Square Feet to Square Meters

    • 1). Determine the initial value in square feet. For the sake of example, let's take 200 square feet.

    • 2). Multiply the initial value by the conversion factor (0.09290304 square meters / 1 square foot). Notice in the example below how the square feet units cancel out. Continuing our example, this would look like: 200 cubic feet x (0.09290304 square meters / 1 square feet )

    • 3). Write the value obtained in step 2 and label it with the square meter unit. This your final value, and is equivalent to the initial value. To conclude the example, the value would be: 200 square feet x (0.09290304 square meters / 1 square feet )= 18.58061 square meters when rounded to five decimal places.
