How to Remove and Replace HP Envy Series 14 Laptop Memory
- 1). Turn off your computer and unplug any cables that are attached to it.
- 2). Turn your laptop upside down and position it so the side that opens up is closest to you.
- 3). Push the battery cover release latch located just above the center of the battery cover on the lower-front part of the computer from the left to the right. The battery cover will become detached from the computer.
- 4). Lift and remove the battery cover. The battery is on the right half of the uncovered area.
- 5). Slide the battery latches located in the upper-left corner to the left, and the battery latch in the upper-right corner to the right to unlock the battery.
- 6). Grab the battery tab in the top-center part of the battery. Lift and remove the battery.
- 7). Remove the five screws along the bottom of the compartment cover that covers the other half of the laptop.
- 8). Push the compartment cover back 1 inch. Lift and remove the compartment cover. The memory module is located in the upper-left corner, in between the two fans.
- 9). Push the tabs on each side of the memory module away from the memory module. The memory module will angle slightly upward.

Lift and remove the memory module. - 11
Insert the new memory module comfortably into the memory module slot and push the tabs on the outside back in until the module lowers into place. - 12
Slide the compartment cover back onto the back half of the laptop. Screw in the screws along the bottom of the compartment cover. - 13
Insert the battery carefully into the battery bay. - 14
While pushing down on the battery, push the lower-left battery latch to the right to lock it in place. The lower-right corner of the battery will instantly lock into place. - 15
Slide the tabs on the battery into the tab slots on the front lip of the battery bay. - 16
Press the battery cover down until the battery release cover latch locks securely into place. - 17
Turn your laptop upside down.
