Warning! You could end up falling in love after reading this love story about a home greeting card business.
If not, you will know what to look for during your search for the right greeting card business for you.
It happened on a typical day at work when I was caught up with my work and wanted to take a break.
I could have gone to the coffee machine to get coffee but I don't drink coffee.
I could have taken a smoke break but I don't smoke.
I could have gone to lunch but it was still too early.
So I visited a co-worker like a lot of people do when they are caught up with their work.
This was no ordinary visit though.
It changed my life forever.
When I arrived, the co-worker had photos on the computer screen of a family that were framed inside what looked like greeting cards.
I asked what it was and the co-worker explained it was a greeting card management system used to design and send cards through the mail to family and friends.
The photos were loaded up from the computer desktop and inserted into the cards.
I started digging for more information and learned you can send greeting cards at the click of a mouse for a birthday or any occasion.
The more information that was revealed the more excited I got.
My co-worker explained I could also write a personal note in the card with my own personal handwriting by typing it in from my computer keyboard.
I know that sounds strange but it really works.
When the card is finished, I can click a send card button and the greeting card information is sent from my personal computer to a mail center located in the Utah.
The mail center prints the same physical card I design on my computer and they actually mail it out.
It is not an e-card from the internet.
It is a real physical card sent through the mail system.
That's way more personal than an e-card..
Now I'm really falling in love with my greeting card business and I still haven't thought about the fact that you can make money with this card system.
I was stuck on the fact that I can send birthday greeting cards to family and friends using the calendar reminder technology that is also built into the system.
It reminds me of a the old school Rolodex but it is electronic.
As soon as it sunk in that my cards would be mailed out for me, I knew I would net a tremendous savings through the years on postage, time, gas and the cost of a greeting card.
I cannot tell you how many times I went to the local grocery story or drug store, stood in the isle and searched for the perfect card for family and friends.
Most of the cards from the store are sappy and don't express how you really feel.
My new card system completely eliminates trips to the post office and the store and I can write what I really feel in all my cards.
Now I'm in love with my home greeting card business for sure.
My love story took place in a matter of minutes so I was not in jeopardy of getting a reputation for being a slacker at work.
So I kept pumping the co-worker for more information and found out you can also attach gifts to each card you send out like brownies, Pecan Brittle, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, assorted tea and gift cards from several noted companies, like Starbucks Coffee and Home Depot.
The brownies are delicious by the way because the friends I sent them to told me so.
Of course I had to know how they tasted so I ordered some for me to try.
Yes, the brownies are great! That is pretty much how I fell in love with a home greeting card business and I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life bringing joy to others with my greeting card business.
