Syria Is Seriously Not Serving Their Citizens

What the heck is going on in Syria, how can something labeled the Arab Spring become a perennial protest and chaos driven civil war? The number of people who have been killed in Syria is a scary proposition.
And unfortunately the bloodshed isn't over despite the promises of the Assad government in Syria.
Let's talk about just how serious this issue is, and what it could mean for the future of the region.
First, we realize that the Assad Government in Syria is run by a minority sect, and their hard and heavy handed governance has until now somewhat kept all the other sects in line and from killing each other, at least at any large rate of carnage.
However, because of this the Assad Government is somewhat weak, and to keep the peace they have allowed something like 10 different international terrorist groups to be headquartered in their country (cite: US State Department assessment).
We often hear people complain that the Iranian regime sponsors proxy terrorists, however if the government in Syria allows known terrorist organizations a place to hang their hat, in many regards they too are sponsoring terrorist organizations in a way also.
There was an interesting segment recently on CNN titled; " U.
N.
: More than 3,500 killed in Syria," on TV on November 8, 2011.
Now then, let's consider this total slaughter of Syrians own people? Now then, I've been watching the news and reading since the Arab Spring came to Syria.
This particular segment noted; "We are deeply concerned about the situation and by the government's failure to take heed of international and regional calls for an end to the bloodshed," spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said in a statement.
"Since Syria signed the peace plan sponsored by the League of Arab States last week, more than 60 people are reported to have been killed by military and security forces, including at least 19 on the Sunday that marked Eid al-Adha.
" Not only is the Syrian government out killing protesters, but the sectarian violence has risen, and now different groups are fighting each other.
Many soldiers in the Syrian army have quit, and have formed what they call the "Free Syria Army" and they have weapons, as well as they know the tactics of the Army which is now trying to hunt them down.
This has all the makings of a full-scale civil war.
And the Arab Spring protests may go on until Spring of 2012 for all we know.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it, because what happens in Syria will change the landscape and redraw the balance of power in the Middle East very soon.
