    • 1). Register your domain or url. A gardening home page should have a domain that has the words garden, flowers, vegetables or plant names in the domain name, such as easygardencare.com, myrosegarden.com, or vegetablegrowingtips.com.

    • 2). Obtain a web host. The host provides space on a server that lets web browsers access your site on the Internet. Choose a host that has an easy to use control panel and the capacity to upload files through the control panel from your computer to the server.

    • 3). Download a WYSIWYG (or "What You See Is What You Get,") web page design program. There are several that are free. The program lets you design a web page without knowing any coding or programming. What you see on your monitor is similar to a word processing document.

    • 4). Open the program then open a file. Name the file index.html or index.htm. Save but don't close the file.

    • 5). Add a garden graphic that is wide and shallow to the top of the page. That's called your header. Divide the page into two columns underneath the header. One column should be narrow and the other wide. The narrow column is on the left and is for navigation. The wide column on the right is where your content will go.

    • 6). Add a bold headline that is the name of the website. That lets visitors know they've arrived at the right place. It also tells search engines and spiders the name of the site.

    • 7). Add content and garden graphics to the wide left hand column. Use short paragraphs. Use the name of the website two or three times in the content.

    • 8). Save the file and close it.

    • 9). Go on the Internet and then to your web host's site. Enter your username and password for your account. Open your Cpanel or control panel. Find the file manager. Exactly where it is depends on the webhost and the Cpanel interface.

Click on the file manager, then click on upload file. Put the location of the index.html file in the open box or browse your files in the WYSIWYG program until you find the index.html file and then click on it.

Open your browser and type in your website url. Check to see if the site looks correct and loads properly.
