Halo 4 Might Just Bring Something New To The Table
When the Xbox was released a long time ago I decided I would go all out and give myself a well deserved treat.
I went out and bought a brand new Toshiba projection television with surround sound and a gnarly gaming chair to tie it all in.
The game Halo had hit the shelves and it was very exciting.
I have to say it ended up being all worth it and the new entertainment system did not disappoint.
Playing the first Halo with friends was exhilarating to say the least.
And the story was so immersible that I would find myself sleepless at 4am or even 5am on most nights.
Come on you remember the Flood! After some time Bungie gave us a few more games Halo 2 and Halo 3 and has even gone as far as giving us Halo: Reach.
And now right around the corner is the new Halo 4, which is said to be light years ahead of their counterparts.
I must be honest, as a gamer, I lost my way when Halo 2 came out.
I did find the game great fun, but I noticed the excitement went away.
I think this was because of the story, it didn't seem like a jump in the right direction and as these other Halo's were released I found I didn't like any of the new games they came out with.
Maybe it was because the campaign lost its value with the birth of online game play.
I didn't feel the connection like the first one.
Halo has been in the shadows for me for some time, until I saw this addition to the franchise.
At first glance I sighed a little and thought to myself "Not another one", but with my desire and inability to brush any new game off my shoulder I had to look further.
I spent some time researching the game and found some really cool articles and great videos.
Now after giving it a chance and really coming to my own conclusion I have to say my excitement is back.
You see what I thought attracted me to the game was completely wrong.
I could remember the many hours of killing the covenant and how it was so much fun exploring the new world, but I never really understood what pulled me in.
Mystery drags me along for the ride.
You see with Halo 2 and 3 I found there was not a ton of mystery in the game, it focused more on the high octane, fast-paced, and heavy action oriented gameplay.
I have personally always liked to add a bit of unknown to my action, it can't always be 'in your face' and 'on the run' type of play.
I need to be surprised and see something I was not expecting.
Halo 4 will bring us back to where we started, figuring out who we are and why we are where we are.
You start off waking up in a drifting ship close to a planet that is or was inhabited by the Forerunners.
You are of course inclined to go down there and see what is going on.
I would tell you more, but I could never explain like this video.
And what you find on the planet just looks so amazing and fun, you have to check it out.
Notice how the environment even looks mysterious.

com/watch?v=n9fRP4KRL1I I have to say it is not just the video that gets me, but the urge to want to figure out what is next.
Luckily we don't have to wait to much longer though.
Halo 4 is scheduled for release on November 6th of 2012 and as time goes on you know they will have more and more stuff to tease us.
I don't know about you but a reunion with the Chief for me is long over due.
