It doesn't matter much if you are a gym rat or are new to physical fitness and wanting to begin a resistance training program, body weight workouts are your smartest choice. You will find some moves difficult to master but worth the effort as the benefits are enormous.

I think I could write all day telling you why everyone needs to include bodyweight exercises in their workout routine but I'll save you from that and hit the key points.

Starting out with beginner body weight exercises will give you a good base for exercises that come in the future, as you progress.

No matter your fitness level each and every exercise can easily be made tougher or much easier. This way regardless your fitness level you can actually get a complete range of motion. Take push ups for example, an advanced bodybuilder can do a one hand push up. On the other hand, if you are a beginner you can simplify the exercise by placing their hands on the wall or other race surface.

The variation is incredible with body weight exercises. They can be used to build strength, or you can make a cardiovascular workout routine. Maybe a little creativity is necessary, but there are near endless combinations and varieties of bodyweight exercises.

Because each exercise has a progression it will not matter what fitness level people are at. As mentioned before every exercise can be scaled and modify to fit anybody. .

As a strength coach this may be the most critical factor for me. Before you progress, and add extra weight to any body weight exercise is mandatory that your technique be perfect. If you can't perform a full range of motion exercise with good postural alignment at just your bodyweight then you have no business doing it weighted.
