    • 1). Find a picture of yourself. If you don't have one, take a photo to use as your guide. Make a note of any key features that stand out. Decide which ones can be exaggerated most easily to create a funny caricature. Study the eyes, nose, mouth and chin. Note how these features fit together.

    • 2). Draw a large, vertical oval on your paper to create the outline of the head. Draw a vertical line down the center of the oval. Draw a horizontal line across the middle. Draw a large nose in the center where the two lines intersect. Add some flared nostrils.

    • 3). Draw two big circles for eyes, one on each side of the vertical line, above the horizontal line. Draw slightly smaller circles inside the first for the irises. Draw in the pupils in the center of the irises. Draw long eyelashes above the eyes. Draw in some thick, eyebrows. Press down hard on your pencil to make them dark.

    • 4). Draw two large ears on the side of the head. Draw a wide smiling mouth below the nose. Draw in large grinning teeth. Draw in the hair. Exaggerate your hairstyle. Make long hair even longer or short hair shorter. Do the same for wavy, curly hair. Add some wrinkles to the forehead. Draw a large, protruding chin on the bottom of the head.

    • 5). Draw a much smaller body below the head. Add shading and blending to your cartoon to give it some depth. Carefully erase the vertical and horizontal guiding lines on the head. Trace over the cartoon with black marker. Color in your drawing with markers or colored pencils. Sign your work.
