Guide Review - "Punch-Drunk Love" DVD Review

I really enjoyed the peculiar combination of lyricism and edginess in ?Punch-Drunk Love,? an offbeat romantic comedy. I found Adam Sandler?s performance very impressive, and this is not at all the kind of movie that made him famous. Sandler plays Barry Egan, a socially awkward man who runs a toilet supplies business out of a San Fernando Valley warehouse. He buys huge quantities of pudding to amass frequent flyer miles and gets entangled in a telephone sex scam before he meets a sweet woman named Lena (Emily Watson).

Barry and Lena fall for each other, and in a truly romantic sequence, they end up in Hawaii together. I liked this film for its quirky characters, surprising narrative, stunning visual style, and interesting score.
