    Buying From a Store

    • Start your search by going to a local store that specializes in used games such as GameStop. These stores feature used PSP games that have been traded in by customers for store credit or cash. GameStop assures players that all used PSP games will work as well as new games, and if after purchase you find that the game does not play, or the UMD is scratched or cracked, the store will replace the game or refund your money. Additionally, used PSP games are offered at a discounted price, anywhere from five dollars less than the standard price to only five dollars for the game. Newer releases will have higher prices and rare PSP games can cost more than the standard $30 to $40 price.

    Buying Used Online

    • If you visit a website such as Amazon.com, eBay or Overstock.com, you can find listings for used PSP games that are being offered by independent sellers. Often times, the prices of these games will be less than at traditional used game stores, but you must remember to factor in shipping costs to see if you're getting a deal. Like GameStop, these websites will insure that the product you receive is in working condition and that you're not being scammed by the seller.

eBay in particular is a great site to find rare PSP games or PSP games that aren't readily available in your country. Also, you're able to bid on these games so you can decide the maximum amount you're willing to spend on the PSP game, and eBay will bid for you up to that amount. Be careful, as bidding can quickly inflate the price of a game.

Rent to Own and Listing your Needs

    • If you're not sure about purchasing a certain PSP game because you haven't played it, try renting it from GameFly.com. Once you've tested out the game, you can pay a fee to keep the used game. This technique lets you try before you buy, making sure not only that the PSP game is in working order, but also that it is one you wish to keep playing until completion.

PSP owners that can't find a specific game on any of the sites or stores listed above can place a want-ad for the game on a site called Dawdle.com. This used-game site allows users to post games they're seeking at the amount they're willing to pay for them. Don't post a price that is too low and you'll find many sellers that are willing to part with a rare PSP game.
