How to Get Started With Social Networking Sites (Part 3)

Last week we discussed creating your first Social Networking account.
I trust that you have had some time to navigate the different sites and become accustomed to how each of them work.
Today I am going to go over the simple process of entering your profile information, creating your homepage there, and how to join clubs.
To create your profile, you will first need to log in to your member page.
Here you will have access to all the tools necessary to enter information about yourself, maintain your homepage, and manage your messages and friends list.
Simply enter what information you deem appropriate about yourself in the profile form and save them to the system.
It's that simple.
To create a homepage, you can do it the easy way or you can do it the hard way.
Unless you are a webmaster with HTML skills, I suggest you go the simple route.
This will involve using the site's default system to answer a bunch of questions about yourself and, when you are done, viola! you now have a homepage.
Now that you have your profile entered and also have created your homepage we can move on to the next step and start making friends and joining clubs.
Making friends-or contacts-on Social Networking sites in many ways is very similar to how we make them in our everyday lives.
You can meet them via online clubs just as you would in social networking meetings.
Logging into MySpace there is a section called 'Groups' located approximately in the center of the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In this section you can search via keywords to find clubs of interest to you.
I would recommend searching for clubs in your local area (EX: used cars Tampa).
Once you have found a few groups you would like to join, it is as simple as clicking the 'Join' button and you are done.
In most cases there are no requirements to join a club but in certain rare cases you will need an invite or your join request will have to be approved by the club members.
As a member of a club you will have access to the member's directory, pursuing this at your leisure; you can find many great contacts.
It just takes a little time.
Once you have identified some individuals you can submit a Friend Request and place them on your communication list.
As you can see, getting involved in the Social Networking scene online is not difficult at all.
