Hopefully by now, you have an idea of the kind of business you would like to start.
If you don't, then please refer back to Part 1 of this series.
So now let's talk about the taking steps to get it off the ground.
This is probably going to be the most difficult part of starting your business, so you are only allowed to think positively right now.
Turning an idea into reality is never easy, but you can totally do it! Now I want you to think about what it's going to take to get your business off the ground.
To get you thinking, I want you to seriously think about the questions below.
Take time to make some notes about what it's going to take for YOUR business.

• Do I need a website?
  • What kind of website?
  • What purpose will this website serve?
  • What kind of functionality does this website need to have?
  • Am I willing to learn to build my own website or will I need to hire someone for this?
• Can I run this business from my home?
  • Is there a home office or designated space for your business?
  • Would customers or clients be able to come there if needed?
• What kind of equipment do I need?
  • What kind of office equipment is needed (computer, desk, printer, fax, etc...
    )
  • What other kind of equipment and/or supplies are needed (tools, boxes, work tables, etc...
    )
• Do I need certification?
  • What type of certification?
  • How long will it take to get certified?
  • What is the cost of this certification?
• Do I need a business license?
  • What type of business license?
  • What steps are needed to obtain it?
  • How much will this business license cost?
• Do I need another vehicle?
  • What type of vehicle?
  • How much will this vehicle cost?
  • Is it possible a vehicle you already own could be used for business too?
• Do I need training?
  • What type of training is needed?
  • Where can I get this training?
  • How much will this training cost?
• Do I need to worry about official business formation right away?
  • What type of business entity would work for you?

Please take some serious time to answer these questions and any others you can come up with about your particular business.
Once you have answered them, think about whether or not this type of business is still right for you.
If you decide to change your business at this point, it's totally okay.
Once you have determined what your business needs are, make an official checklist and call it "Business Requirements".
After evaluating what you have to do to get your business started, I want you to create an additional list and entitle it "Business Implementation Timeline".
On this list, write down every single thing you have to do to get your business started and allot yourself a reasonable amount of time for this goal, but make sure to be real about how much time you are giving yourself.
Too little will set you up for failure and too much will possible make you slack about it.
Now make a few copies of this list and place them around your house.
Good places are on your bathroom mirror, your refrigerator, and your nightstand.
I want you to think about your goals on a very regular basis.
If you just leave it in a file on your computer, then it's WAY too easy to forget about it.
Now that you have some guidance on how to get started on making your business idea a reality, I want you to take this very seriously.
People start successful businesses every day.
It takes a lot of hard work and determination, but you CAN make this happen for yourself! Getting your business off the ground is not an easy thing, but you will be so happy you did in the long run.
Having your own business will totally change your life.
