Hungry? Don’t have the time or money to sit in a restaurant? If you want a quick bite to eat in Washington DC, food trucks provide a variety of quick and inexpensive dining options. Over the past few years there's been an amazing explosion of new food trucks in the Washington DC area. Food vending has caught up with the 21st century in other ways too. Most of these trucks frequent the downtown area.

AZN Eats - The food truck specializes in Asian cuisine and visits downtown Washington DC neighborhoods.
Basil Thyme - The Italian mobile food truck features a pasta of the day and a variety of lasagnas.
BBQ Bus - The roaming restaurant serves BBQ platters, sandwiches, beans, slaw, potato salad, and vegetarian chili. Items are available by the pound to take home or back to the office. Catering is also available.
Big Cheese Truck -The food cart uses artisan cheeses local farmers markets to make yummy grill cheese sandwiches. Tomato soup and chips are also available. Visits downtown Washington DC and Northern Virginia.
Cafe Vida Express - Serves gourmet coffee, expressos, capuccinos and pastries. Travels around to many locations around Washington DC.
Cap Mac - The food truck serves a variety of types of mac and cheese, salads and sandwiches.
The menu changes seasonally.
Captain Cookie and the Milk Man - Captain Cookie serves fresh-baked cookies (baked on the truck), local milk, and custom ice cream sandwiches.
Curbside Cupcakes - The mobile cupcake company brings cupcakes right to your home, office or event. You may email, phone, and fax your order in advance.
DC Empanadas - Offers beef, pork, chicken and vegetarian empanadas. Menu items rotate.
DC Slices - The first mobile pizza kitchen roams through the city during lunch and late night.
District Taco - Serves tacos and burritos in DC and Arlington.
El Floridano - Specializes in Sammies, featuring The Fidel - Classic Cuban (Roasted Pork and Ham), Ho Chi Banh Mi (Turkey Meatloaf) and Chicken Chiang Mai. Various locations downtown at lunch time.
Feelin Crabby - The Crabwich is real jumbo lump crab and red pepper on a kaiser roll with lettuce and tomato. Crab salads and crab chips are also on the menu.
Fojol Bro’s of Merlindia - This unique food truck serves vegetarian and meat-based meals served over basmati rice. The menu changes periodically but includes items such as Buttered Chicken, Chicken Masala, Chicken Curry, Spinach & Cheese and Cabbage & Chickpeas. The food cart also offers locally-made Merlindian products, ranging from Ababa Du's Spicy Cyclones to Mewsh's Mango Lassipop. Catering available. Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle.
Fry Captain DC - This is Washington DC's french fry truck serving hand-cut russet and sweet potatoes, hand-made milkshakes and old fashioned sodas.
Hula Girl Truck - The truck brings the Hawaiian Islands to DC featuring grilled to order Teriyaki steak, chicken and tofu dishes. Platters, sandwiches and salads are available.
Kabob Bites - The truck frequents Downtown DC locations serving tandoori BBQ, Brazilian BBQ, Churrasco, Naan Wraps and Rice.
Pedro and Vinny’s Burrito - “The Burrito Man” serves fresh vegetarian burritos with a massive variety of hot sauces to choose from. Long lines sometimes form all the way down the block; but it moves quickly. Location: 15th and K NW. Washington DC
Red Hook Lobster Pound - The food truck specializes in lobster roll, shrimp roll and whoopie pies from Maine.
Rolls on Rolls - The food truck offers several kinds of Kathi Rolls, the exotic Indian food from New Delhi and Calcutta. Kathi Rolls are meal-sized wraps stuffed with choice of fillings and topped with cabbage, carrots and homemade chutneys. Options for fillings are - marinated Chicken, Paneer (Indian Mozzarella cheese), Mixed Vegetables, Chana Masala (Chic Peas) and Shahi Rajmah (Kidney Beans). Serves Downtown Silver Spring and Washington DC.
Sâuçá - The menu features six different regionally sâuçás, a hand held warm, griddled flatbread wrap-style sandwich. Selections will change weekly. Also offered will be soups, salads, and the sâuçá sweet - the Toffle, a gourmet waffle with a choice of toppings, great for either breakfast or dessert.
Sang on Wheels - The Laos / Asian Fusion style food truck, serves lunch in the Washington DC area.
Seoul Food DC - Offers a variety of Korean/Japanese recipes, including bibimbap, maki rolls, kimchi quesadillas and an assortment of Asian fusion breakfast dishes. Ingredients include grass-fed beef, local chicken and organic tofu. Trucks in Washington DC and Arlington, VA.
Sidewalk Sweetsations - The yellow food truck offers home-made cup pies and cupcakes in Midtown, Capitol Hill, Dupont Circle and Downtown Washington DC.
sweetflow mobile - The environmentally-conscious frozen yogurt truck from Sweetgreen provides local/organic ingredients and toppings. Locations: Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Bethesda
TaKorean Korean BBQ Tacos - Serves spicy Korean bulgogi, marinated barbecued beef, chicken or pork. It’s a fusion blend of Korean BBQ with a twist of Mexican style. TaKorean serves vegetarian and vegan options, along with daily specials. Frequents the downtown Washington DC area.
