Gwendolyn Rogers, owner of The Cake Bake Shop in Indianapolis, put time and thought into every inch of her place. “I never in a million years wanted it to be just a bakery,” she says. “That you would just walk in and buy cake and leave. I always wanted it to be an experience, a destination. When you would come, you would feel like you have been transported into somewhere else.”
