How to Disable Sun Java in Regedit
- 1). Click "Start" and select "Run."
- 2). Type "regedit" into the Open field and click "OK."
- 3). Open the folder "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall."
- 4). Select the registry key that you need to uninstall. To determine whether the registry key is Java-related, click on it once. In the window on the right, there will be three columns: Name, Type and Data. Under the Data column, look for the word "Java." If the word "Java" is found, this is a Java-related registry key.
- 5). Right-click on the registry key name. A new menu will pop up. Select "Delete."
- 6). Click "Yes" in the "Confirm Key Delete" box that pops up. Java is now deleted and disabled.
