How to Prune with Blades for Reciprocating Saws

    • 1). Remove the pruning blade from the package and insert it into the saw's blade holder. You have to flip up the safety lock. Once the blade is in place, snap down the lock and you're ready to go.

    • 2). Select a branch you want to prune. Unlock the trigger lock. Lay the blade against the branch and push the blade guard up against it.

    • 3). Pull the trigger and press down and against the branch to guide the blade as it cuts through the branch.

    • 4). Continue to other branches being careful to cut away from the body and limbs. The saw weighs about eight lbs. and requires some strength to handle, but accomplishes the job in about half the time of traditional loppers and pruning saws.

    • 5). Remove branches from your work area as you go so that the blade does not catch on loose limbs and kick back erratically.

    • 6). When finished, close safety trigger lock, and remove blade before putting the saw away to prevent accidental injury. The pruning blade is very sharp and snags skin easily.
