How to Touch Up Wood on a Picture Frame
- 1). Select a fill stick that closely matches the finish of your frame. Rub the fill stick back and forth over the damaged area until the blemish is completely filled. The fill stick will leave behind a putty residue outside of the area you are repairing.
- 2). Use your scraper card to scrape off the excess filler so that the filled-in area is flush with the frame. You may find that the touched-up area appears lighter in color and does not blend with the rest of the frame.
- 3). Repeat steps one and two, going over the damaged area with the fill stick thoroughly and then smoothing it over with the scrape card.
- 4). Using your soft cloth, buff the picture frame gently, using small circular motions. The damaged area should now be indistinguishable from the rest of the picture frame.
- 5). Apply a sealer to the repaired area and set the picture frame aside to dry.
