- The Ford F-450, also known as the Ford Super Duty, is a range of heavy-duty pick up trucks that has been manufactured since 1999 and, as of 2010, is still in production. The series has been in its second generation since 2008. The F-450 represents Ford's mid- to upper-range of heavy duty trucks. Three trims were produced in 2008: the XL, the XLT, and the Lariat, which all differ in interior and exterior aesthetics.
- All trims of the six-passenger Ford F-450 are 262.4 inches in length, 79.8 inches in height and 172.4 inches in wheelbase producing a front and rear legroom of 41 and 41.8 inches and a front and rear headroom of 41.4 inches. The cargo area is 98 inches in length, 63.9 inches in width at the wall and 20.1 inches in depth. A curb weight of 8,290 lbs. assumes a half-full fuel tank of 38 gallons in capacity.
- All trims are equipped with a 6.4-liter V-8 diesel engine with a bore and stroke of 3.86 and 4.13 inches and a compression ratio of 16.7-to-1. Four valves per cylinder in overhead valve (OHV) configuration produces an engine displacement of 6,400 cc, a maximum output of 350 horsepower at 3,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 foot-pounds at 2,000 rpm.
- The F-450 chassis has a turning diameter of 56.5 feet and is fitted with independent suspension in the front, live axle suspension in the rear and 225/70R20 tires throughout. It has a standard towing capacity of 6,000 lbs., a maximum towing capacity of 24,500 lbs., a maximum payload of 5,720 lbs. and a maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 16,000 lbs..
