Okay it is about time that we set the record straight about zits, pimples and acne.
It does not matter what you call them they are a nuances and we just want them to go away.
But because we are told so my lies about zits we waste our time trying to avoid certain foods or wash our face a dozen times a day.
These things do not necessarily work and you may be stressing yourself out over them.
The first fact about acne that you need to know is that it is not related to your diet.
Now if you are a chocolate lover, like me, this is good news.
But do not get too excited, if you notice that your face breaks out when you eat certain foods continue to avoid that food.
For overall health and better skin cutting back on your sugar may help some, but there are not proven links between diet and zits.
The second fact about zits is related to the first andit is the most widely told myth out there.
Chocolate has not been proven to cause or worsen your outbreaks.
Still you should not go our and celebrate with a chocolate bar because you may not want the extra pounds.
There is a third fact about zits that is very common.
We are told that we need to wash our skin more often to keep it clean.
This is a lie because zits are not formed from dirt on your face and to be honest too much washing will actually make your acne worse because it will irritate your skin.
You should cleanse twice a day, gently, and this will help remove excess oils.
The fourth fact about zits deals with the kind of soap that you should use.
We tend to want to use an abrasive soap and scrub our skin really well but this is not the way to do it.

you want to be gentle with your skin so you should not use abrasive soaps.
There is fifth false fact about zits that we are told.
This one is the stress causes acne myth.
The truth about this one is that stress does not cause zits but it can aggravate it for people who are likely to get acne anyway.
Stress produces an increase in cortisol, which does increase the production of oil in the glands.
The last fact about zits is that sunlight is not proven to lessen or prevent breakouts.
As a matter of fact you should be sure and use an oil free sunscreen to protect your skin when you are out in the sun.
When you are told certain things prevent or make your outbreaks worse, do not take it as fact, ask your doctor or at least get online and do a little research.
You can save yourself some time and worry when you find out the facts about zits and acne.
