It is guided to the blocked part of the brain. Upon reaching the blocked area, the balloon is inflated to clear the blockages. If required a stent might be placed to keep the vein open. The catheter and balloon are removed after clearing the blockages.
Where is CCSVI treatment available?
CCSVI is not approved by FDA and therefore is not widely offered in US. However, due to its gaining popularity, many surgeons across globe have started offering it. India is one such destination.
