    • A USB memory stick is an inexpensive, portable and lightweight storage medium that contains no moving parts. It typically measures less than two inches and weighs about an ounce.

    • The stick's built-in USB connectors attaches quickly to computers or mutlimedia devices. Files can then be backed up to the device. A stick also allows files that are to big to fit on a CD or DVD to be transferred easily between computers.

    Costs

    • As of August 2010, the largest capacity memory sticks available from Amazon.com can hold up to 128 GB and cost about $350. Smaller memory sticks are far less expensive and available at many locations.
