Security Benefits of a Remote Gate
- Always a top priority of homeowners, increasing protection and security can mean the difference between a vulnerable household and a secure one. Households, commercial buildings and other establishments have come to rely on remote or electronic gates due to the tremendous number of advantages that they provide.
- Unlike nonelectronic gates, many remote gates have cameras through which owners can see and observe the person standing right in front of the gate. Through mere observation, the owners can then decide whether to open the gates or not. Remote gates have "irreversible gears"---meaning they cannot be easily opened by force, making them very secure.
- Many electric driveway security gates provide automatic authorization; therefore, the gates will open automatically upon detection of an authorized vehicle and will remain closed once an unauthorized vehicle is detected. The owners set up their remote security system and give authorization to "recognized" vehicles. This assures that only the authorized ones can enter the premises. Normally this is done through the use of a sensor on the vehicle that the gate can detect.
Other remote gates operate off of remote keys that can be pressed, which will then signal the remote gate to open. - Almost all remote gates come with a security code--although for many it's only a backup method of entering the premises. Codes help to prevent cars and other property from being stolen as gates will not open unless an action is undertaken by a person who knows the security code of the system. It is important that the security code is only given to the trusted people.
- A remote or electronic gate also has a voice communication feature where owners can verify the identity of the person waiting and standing right in front of the gate by talking to them. This preserves the owners' privacy by not being seen.
