How To Hookup PC Speakers to a TV

    • 1). Plug a set of RCA audio cables into the Audio Out jacks on the back of the television, connecting the red plug to the right audio channel and the white plug to the left channel.

    • 2). Insert the other ends of the cables into the jacks in the Y-adapter.

    • 3). Plug the audio cord attached to the right PC speaker into the mini-plug jack on the Y-adapter. The right speaker contains an amplifier for powering both PC speakers, with volume and tone control knobs located either on the front or back of the speaker.

    • 4). Plug the cable attached to the left speaker into the mini-plug audio jack on the back of the right speaker.

    • 5). Plug the power adapter into the AC jack on the back of the right-channel speaker, then plug the power transformer into a wall outlet.

    • 6). Switch on the PC speakers and turn on the television to hear programming through both the external speakers and the TV's built in speakers.

    • 7). Use the TV remote control to turn off the television's built-in speakers by pressing the Menu button and using the up and down arrow keys to toggle to Speakers. Use the left and right arrow keys to switch the built-in speakers on or off.
