Personality of a Good Snow Cone Vendor

So you've probably already thought about the best locations for selling snow cones, what your best up sell items will be, and even specifics about the equipment you'll work with, but have you thought about your personality? Forgive the pun and thank about this as a little food for thought: what makes the difference between a good waitress and a great waitress? What about a bartender you tipped $10 instead of $5? Ever tip a shuttle driver? If you spend much time thinking about this, the answer should become obvious.
Aside from decent service, you tip the people with the best personalities! If you really want to be a resounding success, you have to look at more than just supply and demand and pricing - you have to have a personality that makes people want to buy from you and want to toss their cash your way.
Remember to smile while delivering the snow cones and making change, toss out a joke, and laugh whenever there's a good time to do so.
People aren't only going to remember the good snow cones you're providing, but they're going to remember how much fun it was to order from you and shoot the breeze.
That leads to great word of mouth, which leads to even more customers (not to mention more repeat customers), and all of that leads to a lot more cash.
When all these repeat customers are in a good mood every time they hand you some cash, all's the better! Don't be surprised if the waiting line for your cart keeps getting bigger and bigger with each passing day.
There are a lot of little things you can do to make yourself stand out.
While you may or may not be the only game in town as far as snow cone carts go, you can easily stand out as the best of the best by taking even a few small steps.
Remember your customers' names whenever you can, and if you don't have a name tag then introduce yourself.
Customers love being able to go buy from Jim or Jane instead of "that vendor.
" Even greetings like "buddy," "pal," or "dear" can be a great way to start building that relationship between you and your customers.
Say it with a smile, crack a joke, and if you have some good self-deprecating jokes in your arsenal, there are few jokes that build a bond more quickly between you and customers.
And smile.
Always smile.
There might be recession, job concerns, banks struggling, but when your customers are around you none of that should matter.
It should be about smiles, support, and a couple of jokes and smiles in exchange for a couple dollars in cash.
When you make others feel good, they're going to keep coming back...
and in today's world, who wouldn't pay a few bucks for a good mood, not to mention a quality snow cone and good company to boot? Add a tip jar, let your personality shine, and you might be amazed just how much extra cash that little jar and a smile can bring in.
