    • 1). Soak the seeds in water overnight. Discard any seeds that float

    • 2). Sow three seeds per small moist peat pot, about 1/4 inch deep.

    • 3). Place the pots in a location with plenty of light and maintain the indoor temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 4). Keep the soil moist.

    • 5). Remove all but the hardiest seedling in each peat pot, after the seedlings reach about an inch tall.

    • 6). Set the plants outside after temperatures remain over 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit for about three weeks. Let the plants acclimate to the outdoor temperature for several days, and reduce watering before planting in the garden.

    • 7). Plant the seedlings in a row, spacing the seedlings 1 to 2 feet apart. Space the rows 2 to 3 feet apart.
