How to Transplant Moon Flowers
- 1). Trim back any weak or damaged vines with garden shears before you transplant the flower.
- 2). Dig up an established moon flower from the landscape, using a garden spade. Dig around the base of the vine, being careful to not cut the main root ball. If you are transplanting a flower from a container, use a hand spade to loosen the soil from the side of the pot.
- 3). Select a transplanting site that receives full sunshine and moonlight and has good drainage. Dig a hole that is three times as wide and just as deep as the moon flower's root ball or container. Lower the plant into its new hole. Backfill the hole with soil.
- 4). Firm the soil as you fill the hole to keep out air bubbles. Water until the soil settles.
