How to Clean Mold Out of Water Pouches
- 1). Empty the water pouch completely. If possible, turn it upside down and let stand to get all the water out.
- 2). Fill the water pouch about 1/4 full with bleach. Put the cap on the pouch and shake it vigorously, then remove the cap.
- 3). Insert a small bottle brush into the water pouch's opening and scrub away the mold. Rinse the pouch with water and refill the pouch 1/4 full with bleach and scrub again, repeating this process until the mold has been cleaned away. Rinse again with water thereafter.
- 4). Fill the water pouch about 1/4 to 1/3 with warm water. Squirt in a little dish soap and fasten the cap. Shake the water pouch gently and then remove the cap. Pour out the soap/water mixture and repeat at least once more to get all the bleach out of the pouch.
- 5). Rinse thoroughly with water and then drain again. Allow the rinse water to evaporate. Any bleach will also evaporate.
