How to Unfreeze an Apple iTouch
- 1). Plug your iTouch into your computer. Every iTouch comes with a cord that has one end that plugs into the bottom of the iTouch and another that plugs into the USB port of your computer.
- 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer's desktop. Do not worry if you never use iTunes or do not have an account; this program is only used to read that your iTouch is plugged into your computer and get it to begin working properly.
- 3). Hold the power button located at the top of the device, while simultaneously holding down the home menu button. Hold these two buttons down together for 10 seconds and then release only the power button. Continue holding the home menu button for an additional 10 seconds before you release it.
- 4). Click the "OK" button from the window that pops up on your computer telling you that there is an iTouch entering recovery mode. Click the "Reboot" button in the middle of the iTunes window. An alert window will then appear; click the "Reboot and Update" button from this window.
- 5). Allow the iTouch to complete rebooting. An iTunes logo will then appear on the black screen of your iTouch and will disappear when the reboot is complete. You can then register your iTouch or just skip it for the time being; your iTouch will now be fully functional.
