The main reason diets don't work is because it's just a temporary change in your lifestyle.
When you make a change which is not long term, it is easy for us to go on it for a short time because we know it won't last long.
This is why we accumulate so many diets because they appeal to us to get fast results.
The diets plans that we try to follow provide advice to achieve our weight loss goal.
Some of them we like and some we don't like.
The problem with these great diets that nobody wants to stay on these diets forever.
They are make to be temporary.
This is why people work hard at following the diet, they lose the weight and then they quit the diet so they can go back to normal eating.
This is when the weight is put back on.
Because you have been deprived you continue to eat and when you put that weight back on, you also put on some extra pounds.
This is considered to be the yo-yo syndrome.
Then they decide they will go back on it.
However now your not excited about it anymore.
People will then chose a new course of action and start a new diet plan.
This is great for the marketing companies.
These companies offer the diets that people use to feed their desires to lose weight.
When they advertise quick weight lose people stand in line at their door waiting to buy anything that will help them lose the weight fast.
You could eat almost anything and lose weight but with very small portions.
But we also need to look at the nutritional needs and make sure we aren't losing our nutrients when we go on these diets.
Once we lose these nutrients this is serious trouble for the body and we get sick.
If you want a change in your diet then you need to be prepared for a long lasting change not a temporary one.
This is the only way a diet will work is to make a change to your diet for life.
This way you will lose it and be assured of keeping it off.
If you monitor your Daily Fat Intake (known as DFI) you can lose the weight you need to lose.
This may take some time and patience but it will be worth it in the long run.
And when you do lose it will be forever as long as you want to keep it off just by adjusting to your DFI.
