How to Broil the Perfect Steak
- 1). Remove steaks from packaging, rinse and dry with a paper towel.
- 2). Rub olive oil on the steak or, if preferred, melt a tablespoon of butter in a cup in the microwave to rub the steak down. Also rub the steak down with a tablespoon of sea salt or Kosher salt.
- 3). Preheat the oven on broil and place a cooking rack approximately six inches from the heating element. Also, heat up an empty skillet on your stove until hot.
- 4). Place the skillet onto the oven rack once both it and the oven are sufficiently preheated, after approximately 10 minutes.
- 5). Place the steak into the skillet, close the oven and broil for four minutes at 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 6). Open the oven after four minutes and flip the steak over. Close the oven, broil for four more minutes and remove.
