Causes of Stress Between Married Couples
Happily married couples do not mean their life is perfect. They just recognize the fact that as individuals, they cannot always take control of other people and most especially, they cannot manipulate everything that happens around them. So, if you feel stressed about your marriage, how will you be able to put an end to it?
First of all, recognize the fact that you can only take control of yourself. Meaning, if you want to relieve yourself from all the stress from work and home, you have to do something about your lifestyle and perspective in life. Start from recognizing the source and then find ways on how you will be able to handle things better.
To help you out, here are some of the common causes of stress for married couples:
First is the absence of the other. This may mean separation or even lack of time for each other. The best thing to do is explain this to the other person not by arguing but over a good conversation. Ask yourself too if you have been devoting time for your other half. Maybe it is also a factor why you barely have times together. Next is the financial aspect. You may think that this is not easy to resolve because bills will not simply go away. Yet, stressing out over financial problems will not make it go away too. Deal with the finances together. It will be good to know each other's income and budget the money you have together. This way, you are both aware of the expenses. Third is work. Most people make it a habit to let their problems at work affect their spouses and family. Be conscious about it. It is okay to share with them how your day went but keep in mind that whatever trouble you experience at work is not caused by your spouse or your family. It is better if you leave all work related problems in the office.
There are a lot of other causes but those are just the top three. Bottom line is, good communication between you and your spouse is the best way to lessen or even eradicate stress.
