    • 1). Rinse the inside of the sink with tap water to flush any debris or liquids down the drain. Leave the sink's surface wet.

    • 2). Sprinkle baking soda throughout the inside of the ceramic sink. Use enough baking soda to cover all rusty parts of the sink.

    • 3). Slice the potato in half. Rub the two pieces all over the rusty parts of the sink. Repeat this using another potato, if necessary, until all rusty parts of the sink are covered.

    • 4). Pour white vinegar into a bowl. Dip the sponge into the vinegar.

    • 5). Scrub the sink with the soaked sponge. The baking soda, potato and vinegar lift the rust off the sink.

    • 6). Repeat Steps 4 and 5 as needed until all of the rusty portions of the sink are scrubbed.

    • 7). Wait 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse the sink thoroughly with tap water.

    • 8). Inspect the sink. Repeat Steps 2 through 7 if any rust is visible.

    • 9). Dry the sink with a soft cloth or towel. Leave no moisture in the sink to prevent rust from reappearing.
