    Locating an Agent

    • For help with leaf identification in local areas, the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service operates county, area and district extension offices. Members of the public can phone, email or visit to request the assistance of extension agents to identify plant material.

    Extension Departments

    • The Oklahoma State University Agricultural Economics Extension operates several extension departments, including Entomology and Plant Pathology, Horticulture and Landscape, Plant and Soil Sciences, Natural Resource Ecology and Management and the Food and Ag Products Center. Each of these departments may be able to help identify certain types of plant material or direct you to a resource that can provide more specific assistance.

    Agricultural Sciences Division

    • The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service Division of Agricultural Sciences and Family and Consumer Sciences may be able to assist with identification of garden plant leaves or weeds. This branch of Oklahoma State University provides gardening, food and nutrition advice.

    Children and Youth

    • The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service operates the state's 4-H program for children and youth. The 4-H Forestry Program features a tree-identification unit -- available online -- that helps participants identify the leaves of 20 trees common to Oklahoma.
