How to Convert Windows Vista to Windows XP
- 1). Insert the USB drive into your computer.
- 2). Navigate through your files and folders, saving important documents to the USB drive as a backup. This is necessary as these files will be deleted during the process of converting Vista back to XP.
- 3). Insert the Windows XP CD into your drive and restart the machine.
- 4). Press any key during startup to load from the CD.
- 5). Navigate through the installation screens until you find yourself at the Partition Manager. Highlight each partition and press "D" to remove them from the system.
- 6). Press "C" and create a single partition using all of your hard drive space. Highlight this and select it as the partition to install Windows XP.
- 7). Select the NTFS file system from the list. This will overwrite Vista and restore XP to your computer.
