How to Keep Music on an iPod With a New Computer

    • 1). Plug the iPod cable into the port on the bottom of the iPod. Connect the other end of the cable to the port on the computer and wait for iTunes to launch. Click the "Cancel" button in the prompt that asks you to sync the iPod with the new computer.

    • 2). Click the "iPod" entry in the "Devices" list on the left-hand side of the window. Click the "Summary" tab.

    • 3). Check the box for "Manually Manage Music and Videos" and click "OK." Click "Apply" to save the changes to the iPod.

    • 4). Click "Library" in the "Sources" window to access the music files on your new computer. Click on a file and drag it onto the "iPod" entry in the "Devices" list to add the music to the iPod's hard drive while keeping your old music on the iPod.
