    • 1). Twist the dirt receptacle counterclockwise until it releases from the vacuum unit.

    • 2). Wrap a plastic garbage bag around the bottom of the vacuum unit. Hold it securely in place.

    • 3). Reach through the bottom of the garbage bag and grip the weight at the filter's bottom.

    • 4). Shake the filter's weight to release dirt into the garbage bag.

    • 5). Lift the garbage bag off the vacuum unit once the filter stops releasing dirt into the bag. Remove the bag carefully so you don't release the dirt into the air or on the floor.

    • 6). Turn over and dump any debris from the dirt receptacle into the garbage bag.

    • 7). Twist the dirt receptacle clockwise to replace it on the vacuum unit.
