How to Remove Dried Bloodstains From a Mattress
- 1). Put on rubber gloves. Pour hydrogen peroxide directly on the bloodstain, covering the entire stain.
- 2). Allow the peroxide to foam and bubble for a moment. Dampen a paper towel in cool water, and wipe away the foam. Some of the blood will probably remain, especially if this stain is more than a day or so old.
- 3). Pour hydrogen peroxide again over the bloodstain. The peroxide should foam again, although not as much this time.
- 4). Dampen a fresh paper towel in cold water, and wipe it over the stain. Repeat this procedure with the peroxide until the stain is gone. If the stain persists, scrub it with a scrub brush to pull it from fabric fibers, in addition to using peroxide and paper towels.
- 5). Blot the area with dry paper towels to remove as much moisture as you can. Leave the mattress uncovered to air-dry.
