How to Remove X From an Exponent
- 1). Write down the term you want to simplify. For example, 7y^x.
- 2). Represent the log base 10 of this term by writing the word "log" before the term. For example, log7y^x.
- 3). Remove the x from the exponent and place it in front of the term as a multiplier. For example, xlog7y.
- 1). Write the term you wish to simplify. For example, 7y^(x + 3).
- 2). Represent the log base 10 of this term by writing the word "log" before it. For example, log7y^(x + 3).
- 3). Place the exponential expression in front of the term as a multiplier. For example, (x + 3)log7y.
- 4). Multiply the previously exponential expression through by multiplying each of its terms by the log term. For example, xlog7y + 3log7y.
- 5). Move the multiplier that is not the x term back to its exponential position, if you wish, and remove the log term from that part of the expression. For example, xlog7y + 7y^3.
